About

Eric Eisenmann (Founder of SOJHA)

Carlsbad-009In the spring of 1985 I discovered The Book of Massage and with no formal training, I began experimenting with acupoints and massage techniques on myself and friends. In 1992, I was promoted to Director of Education at Aveda in San Francisco and had the opportunity to train thousands of hair stylists on the Aveda scalp and shoulder massage.

In 1995, I made a career change and apprenticed with Shogo Mochizuki and after only two years of intensive studies began teaching Level I Anma. In 2007, David Palmer, The Father of Chair Massage, Sam Keller, and I launched Zubio, a revolutionary business model in the chair massage industry. The San Francisco Chronicle agreed calling us “The Starbucks of Massage” on the front page of the business section.

These days I spend most of my time with my two-year old son while maintaining a small and intimate massage practice for a select few VIP clients. I teach massage around the country and coach small business owners and entrepreneurs. The School for Japanese Healing Arts has been a dream of mine for years and I’m excited about the opportunity to share and teach.
